General Information
The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Galatasaray University began its academic activities in the 1994–1995 academic year and graduated its first cohort in June 1998. The Faculty offers undergraduate education in the departments of Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, and International Relations.
Students admitted to the University are required to successfully complete the French Preparatory Program before starting their undergraduate studies in the Faculty. The Faculty’s educational model is based on a course-credit system composed of compulsory and elective courses. Instruction is conducted in both French and Turkish.
In addition to courses taught in French, students also take English language courses. Students who successfully complete the English language requirements may have the opportunity to study a third foreign language. These students may also benefit from elective courses offered in English.
The Faculty adopts pedagogical methods that encourage active student participation in courses. The University’s computer laboratories, which are open for continuous use, and the documentation center connected to international library systems via the Internet, provide support services consistent with this educational approach.
Teaching in the departments is carried out by Turkish and French full-time faculty members as well as visiting scholars. In order to enrich the education provided by faculty members, conferences and seminars are organized with the participation of experts in their fields and scholars invited from abroad.
Academic student clubs, established through the initiative of students within the departments, conduct activities that support education. In addition to organizing seminars and panels on current issues that broaden academic education, these clubs also play a leading role in organizing career week events aimed at supporting students in their internships and post-graduation career planning.
